UNIVISION 2020 CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

Winner of 2019 US Hispanic Young Lions Competition
This is the spec campaign my teammate and I produced over the course of three days for the Young Lions competition.

CHALLENGE:

Develop a 30-second video and campaign for Univision to help increase voting among young US Hispanics for the 2020 elections.

INSIGHT:

Many older generations of Hispanics have lived in this country for decades, yet they are unable to vote. However, their children who were born in the US do have the opportunity to vote in the 2020 US Election.

VIDeo:

experiential:

Create special ofrendas at Dia de los Muertos festivals around the country (the week before election day), featuring family photos, where each relative’s photo has their mouth covered in tape, representing their voicelessness.

We’ll hand out branded materials to explain the importance of voting, and what it means to your family and especially past generations. We can also provide info on how and where to vote November 2nd.

OUT OF HOME & PRINT:

Create an outdoor campaign using a photo series and our message #VotaConmigo.

DIGITAL:

Create a photo filter app that allows you to upload or take a photo of yourself, and the app will put an X over your mouth, and even make you look older. You can then share the photo on social media with #VotaConmigo.
